A MESSAGE FROM the GSCL

Welcome to the 2021 season of the Garden State Cricket League. In this era of Covid-19 and its many variants, we encourage all members, fans and officials to be vigilant. We empathize with those who have lost family and friends. When practical maintain social distancing, wear a mask, wash your hands and use sanitizers, more importantly get tested and get vaccinated; these actions will help to protect you. Let us do our part in helping to control, if not eradicate this dreadful and deadly virus, please stay safe and stay healthy
This season there is no divisional cricket, instead the teams are divided into two groups, each playing nine games. A quarter final game has been added to the playoffs thus affording more teams an opportunity to be in the playoffs, however only one team can win the coveted championship trophy. Wanderers Sports Club has been the most dominant team in the GSCL for the past few years. Will their supremacy be challenged this year? Only time will tell. Welcome to new teams South Hudson, Staten Island and Elite cricket club, returning clubs Eclipse and Dominica United rounds out the compliment of fourteen clubs.
Umpires provide an invaluable but often unappreciated contribution to the sport of cricket. The GSCL is fortunate to have a cadre of qualified umpires. There is room for a few more, if you are interested in becoming a member of this elite group, please contact the GSCL general secretary at copeland.gensec18@gmail.com. Good luck to all participants, be safe and may the best team win.
