The Garden State Cricket League is at the Semi Final Stage of its T20 competition, for the 2020 season. Following last week's elinminator games, Jersey City and Wanderers, will join the two top seeds Commonwealth CC and Berbice Royals, in the semi-finals. Top seed Comonwealth CC will face off against Jersey City, while second seeded Berbice Royals will take on Wanderers Sports Club. The teams will be vying for a place in the Final, which is slated for Sunday October 11th, 2020. Both eliminator games finished in contrasting styles, with the game between Wanderers and Trin Jersey being a one sided affair, with Wanderers SC winning by 159 runs, thanks to a blistering 196 by their number 3 batsman Andrew White. White's knock included 21 sixes and 16 fours. The second eliminator came down to the last over. Needing three runs from the last ball, Jersey City's allrounder Kooblal, hit the last ball through extra cover for four, tp secure Jersey City's passage to the semi- final.
Both semi-finals should be evenly contested, and should provide entertaining cricket for spectators on Sunday. |
